Mapping Your Future

Mapping Your Future is a one-semester class.  The overall purpose of the class is to help you formulate some career, college, military, or any other future goals and compare your present level of academic performance with where you might want to be.  The course will also help you to formulate goals, and pathways for obtaining that goal, all while working within the support groups that you have available. Most of the students enrolled in this course are in their sophomore year of schooling at Baker Web Academy or Baker Early College. You’ll have the opportunity also to connect with your classmates.  We recognize that some students may have clear ideas of future ambitions, but the majority of you are still exploring.  This course will allow for entry-level exploration that will be refined during your junior and senior year.

You will also be introduced to foundational skills for success in either the workplace or post-secondary education and this course will address these 21st Century skills and attitudes, and assist you in recognizing the influences that family, culture, and other social influences have upon your decision making.
